Expected impacts
The demonstrator aims to explore the impact of V2B (vehicle to business) solutions in the tourist accommodation sector by using EVs as the mobile battery. Working with different audience types, such as commercial, island visitors and residents from within the local community, the demo tests out grid tolerance as V2G (vehicle to grid) in a grid constrained area.
Business model
This demo site is based on flexibility services offered by EV owners to building managers, enabled by medium to long-term parking in parking lots and integration with building energy management system operations, while the building manager provides EV owners with compensation for accessing idle battery capacity. This makes it possible to optimise building tariffs through intelligent parking pricing.
