In this latest episode of the “DriVe2X Talks” video series, Pim Piek, project coordinator at TNO, delves into the contributions and ambitions of TNO within the DriVe2X project.
Pim highlights the multidisciplinary expertise TNO brings to the project, particularly from social scientists addressing societal acceptance of new technologies and specialists in modelling vehicle-to-grid solutions. “We have several models in place that are already assisting this project,” Piek explains, “and we are also working with our partners to develop new models to enhance our analysis and planning.”
Participating in DriVe2X is crucial for TNO as it addresses the significant challenge of the global energy transition. Pim emphasizes the importance of integrating renewable energy sources and leveraging the growing prevalence of electric vehicles. “Electric vehicles offer battery capacity that can add flexibility to the grid,” he states. “This capability will help us utilize available energy more efficiently.”
