MAIA CITY CENTRE (V2G)
The city of Maia is one of the most industrialised municipalities in Portugal and an important transportation hub, counting 120,111 inhabitants. Maia was the first Portuguese city to have a fast-charging parking for EVs, called the e-Hub, located in the city centre.

CHARGING SCENARIO: HOME CHARGING
Vehicle-to-home integration with HEMS for renewables’ integration and tariff optimization in prosumer and consumer homes.
Expected impacts
The demonstrator tests the benefits of deploying public smart charging and V2G in a LV grid feeder in the city center, with view to keeping the network’s operation within set technical parameters.
Business model
The tested business model is centered around energy and power-based grid support services provided by EV owners who charge their vehicles in a public smart charging hub equipped with V2G. The study of appropriate service compensation schemes for these services is another key focus of this demonstrator.
