UK–EU Innovation & Collaboration Symposium on V2X & Smart Charging

A two-day UK–EU symposium bringing together innovators, policymakers and researchers to accelerate the deployment of smart charging and V2X solutions.

On 14–15 April 2026, the University of Salford (Manchester, UK) will host the UK–EU Innovation & Collaboration Symposium on V2X & Smart Charging, a two-day event designed to strengthen collaboration between European and UK initiatives working on electric mobility and smart energy systems.

The symposium will bring together Horizon Europe and Innovate UK projects, alongside policymakers, industry stakeholders and researchers, to exchange insights and align efforts on the accelerated deployment of V2X and smart charging technologies.

Through a series of interactive parallel sessions, participants will explore key topics including technical standards, grid integration, market development, consumer trust, and the role of fleets and buildings in smart charging ecosystems.

The event will convene regulators, network operators, OEMs, charge point operators (CPOs), aggregators, fleet and site operators, and research organisations, creating a collaborative environment to share pilot results and real-world experiences. Discussions will contribute to evidence-based deployment guidance, UK–EU alignment priorities, and the development of joint recommendations and a white paper supporting the scale-up of V2X solutions across Europe.

Participation is free of charge and by invitation, with limited capacity. Interested participants can request further information by contacting SBS-PAs@salford.ac.uk.
