As Europe accelerates its transition toward a clean, secure, and competitive energy union, the integration of electric mobility and energy infrastructure will take centre stage at the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026. Among the flagship discussions of this year’s programme is the high-level policy panel, “E-mobility and Grid: creating the perfect match for Europe’s energy autonomy competitiveness”.
The session will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, technology innovators, and energy stakeholders to explore how smart integration between electric vehicles and the electricity grid can strengthen Europe’s energy autonomy, industrial competitiveness, and decarbonisation ambitions. Discussions will focus on the role of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies, smart charging infrastructure, grid flexibility, digitalisation, and cross-sector collaboration in building a resilient and consumer-centric energy ecosystem.
A key contribution to the discussion will come from Gonçalo Mendes, participating in his role as V2X Cluster and DriVe2X’s coordinator, where he will share insights on the accelerating deployment of bidirectional charging solutions and the growing importance of V2X integration in supporting grid stability and renewable energy optimisation across Europe.
Through his participation, he will highlight how coordinated European action on e-mobility infrastructure, interoperability standards, and grid innovation can unlock significant value for consumers, utilities, and mobility providers alike. His intervention will also address how V2X technologies can support Europe’s broader goals of energy independence, flexible markets, and industrial leadership in clean mobility solutions.
As EUSEW 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Europe’s leading event dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency, it will gather thousands of stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to shape the future of the continent’s energy transition.
An amazing opportunity to show how DriVe2X is contributing to such ambitious goals.
