On 13 June 2025, Brussels hosted at the POLIS Network headquarters a pivotal meeting of the V2X Cluster, composed of Horizon Europe sister projects which are transforming the future of Vehicle‑to‑Everything (V2X) technologies.
DriVe2X, represented by its coordinator Gonçalo Mendes (LUT University) and Gautham Ram (TU Delft), chaired the session on behalf of the cluster, coordinating updates and fostering synergies across initiatives. Mendes stepped in as project coordinator following the successful meeting of the cluster in Porto last June, where he presented the latest findings on battery degradation in V2X use cases.
In Brussels, each project brought forward its contributions:
- DriVe2X opened with insights into real‑world battery degradation data gained through experimental V2X integrations, as well as providing valuable input for the business models working group.
- EV4EU updated on cross‑project regulatory progress and demo planning across Greece, Portugal, Slovenia, and Denmark
- SCALE, FLOW, and XL‑CONNECT shared recent progress on business models, end‑user engagement, and charger hardware evolution.
With the arrival of three new cluster members, AHEAD, Neverflat, and ePowerMove, the network now embraces a broader scope of expertise, reinforcing collaboration on policy alignment, standardisation, and pilot interoperability.
In terms of what’s next, the V2Xluster plans a joint workshop in autumn to align pilot testbeds and synchronize regulatory proposals across the expanded membership. This unified approach is set to accelerate V2X deployment across Europe, ensuring battery resilience, system interoperability, and user‑centric solutions.
