EDP NEW is the Research and Development Centre of EDP Group, a global energy major and a leader in the energy transition. NEW partners with other business units within EDP and multiple European institutions, companies and universities to execute large R&D projects leveraged by public competitive funding for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and other national initiatives. Since its establishment in 2015, NEW secured € 30 million in funding for over 40 projects within five key areas: Smart Energy Systems, Positive Energy Communities, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Technology, RES Integration and Flexibility, and Digital Energy. In a monthly basis, NEW shares its experience and latest developments with the public through the R&D Sessions webinar series.
In DriVe2X, EDP NEW will play a pivotal role as the primary responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of real context testing, validation, and demonstration activities for the developed vehicle-to-everything solutions.
